Journey Through Morocco’s Imperial Cities


Step into the heart of Morocco’s legendary past with an unforgettable journey through the Imperial Cities of Rabat, Fes, Meknes, and Marrakech—four extraordinary destinations that have shaped the history, culture, and identity of the Kingdom. Once the capitals of powerful Moroccan dynasties, these cities reveal centuries of heritage through magnificent palaces, ancient medinas, grand monuments, and vibrant souks. From the elegant boulevards and royal landmarks of Rabat to the spiritual and artistic treasures of Fes; from the historic grandeur of Meknes to the colorful energy and timeless charm of Marrakech, each city offers a unique chapter in Morocco’s fascinating story.


Discover a captivating fusion of Arab, Amazigh (Berber), Andalusian, and European influences reflected in Morocco’s architecture, traditions, craftsmanship, cuisine, and way of life. Wander through centuries-old alleyways, admire intricate mosaics and carved woodwork, meet local artisans, and experience the living culture that continues to inspire travelers from around the world. A journey through Morocco’s Imperial Cities is more than sightseeing—it is an immersive experience into the heritage, hospitality, and soul of Morocco, where the past and present come together in unforgettable harmony.


ITINERARY

Arrive at Mohamed V Airport in Casablanca. Meet and greet by Sam Nhairy. Enjoy a brief panoramic driving tour of the city before transferring to your hotel for check-in. Rest in the afternoon. Dinner is included at the hotel.

After breakfast, check out and depart with your national guide for Fez via Rabat, Meknes, and Volubilis. Rabat: Visit the Chellah Roman ruins, Oudaya Kasbah, Mohamed V Mausoleum, the medieval Hassan Tower, and view the exterior of the Royal Palace. Then we head to Meknes with stops at the Yacoub El Mansour Gateways, the Palace Tomb of Moulay Ismail, and the imperial stables. Lunch at a local Moroccan restaurant. After lunch, we will depart for Volubilis, where we will explore the Roman ruins and mosaics of this former capital of the Roman Province of Mauritania, once home to Cleopatra Selene and King Juba II.

Arrive in Fez, Morocco’s spiritual and intellectual capital. Check into your hotel. Dinner buffet included

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Fez, one of Morocco’s four Imperial cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • The Royal Palace gates
  • The Jewish Quarter (“Mellah”)
  • Borj Nord (15th-century fort)
  • The world’s oldest university (founded by a woman in the 9th century)

Visits to local artisan workshops (pottery, brass, textiles, rugs, and a traditional bakery). Lunch on your own at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel for dinner and rest for the night.

Breakfast and check out. Drive to Marrakech via Ifrane (an alpine-style village) and Azrou.

Travel through the Middle Atlas with views of fruit orchards (oranges, grapefruit, apricots, apples, figs) and make short stops to meet locals. 

Lunch on your own along the route. Arrive in Marrakech, check in at your hotel, and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full-day tour of Marrakech, “the Pearl of the South.” Founded in the 11th century, this Imperial city once served as Morocco’s capital. Visits include:

  • Koutoubia Mosque (masterpiece of Almohad art)

  • El Badi Palace
  • Jamaa Lafna Square
  • Majorelle Garden
  • Medrassa Benyoussef

Lunch on your own at the famous Djemaa el-Fna square, followed by free time for shopping. In the evening, enjoy dinner and entertainment at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel and retire for the night.

Breakfast and check out. Drive to Casablanca. Lunch on your own at the Morocco Mall. If time permits, visit the Hassan II Mosque (exterior) and Mohammed V Square. Check into your hotel and freshen up before dinner at the iconic Rick’s Café. Return to your hotel and rest for the night.

Breakfast, baggage handling, and check out. Transfer to Mohamed V International Airport for your flight back home.
